Cover Supervisor – Secondary School – Basingstoke – January 2026 Start
Are you looking to gain valuable classroom experience in a secondary school setting?
Teaching Personnel is working closely with a welcoming secondary school in Basingstoke to recruit a confident and reliable Cover Supervisor to start in January 2026.
This is an excellent opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, unqualified teachers, or experienced school support staff who are keen to build hands-on classroom experience while supporting students’ learning across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise classes in the absence of the class teacher, delivering pre-prepared lesson content, maintaining positive behaviour, and ensuring learning continues throughout the school day.
The role will involve:

Supervising lessons across KS3 and KS4 using set lesson plans

Managing classroom behaviour and keeping students engaged
-
Supporting pupils with their learning and encouraging participation

Providing feedback to teaching staff on lesson outcomes

Promoting a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment
The ideal candidate will:

Be confident working with young people in a classroom setting
-
Have strong communication and behaviour management skills
-
Be organised, adaptable, and professional

Have previous experience working with children or young people (desirable but not essential)

Be interested in gaining experience within secondary education

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
