Job description

We’re currently looking for enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to work across secondary schools in Rochdale and Oldham, supporting students and supervising classes in the absence of their usual teacher.

This is a fantastic opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers and those with experience working with young people. Full training and ongoing support will be provided, so previous experience as a Cover Supervisor isn’t essential.

The Role

  • Supervise classes across KS3 and KS4 when their teacher is unavailable
  • Deliver pre-prepared work and ensure students remain focused and engaged
  • Manage classroom behaviour confidently and consistently
  • Build positive relationships with students and staff
  • Support the smooth running of the school day
  • Gain valuable experience within a secondary school environment

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience working with children or young people is beneficial
  • Confident communication and classroom management skills
  • A positive, reliable and professional attitude
  • The ability to build good relationships with students
  • Graduates considering a career in teaching are particularly encouraged to apply

We provide full training to all staff including an in-house Cover Supervisor training session, SEN Skills and Behaviour Management – ideal for graduates and those new to education.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
