The Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising classes in the absence of their usual teacher, ensuring students remain focused, engaged and well behaved while completing the work provided.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supervising pupils across KS3 and KS4
  • Delivering pre-prepared lessons and ensuring students complete set work
  • Managing classroom behaviour confidently and consistently
  • Maintaining a positive and purposeful learning environment
  • Supporting pupils with their learning where appropriate
  • Following school policies and safeguarding procedures
  • Providing feedback to relevant staff where required

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience working with young people in a school, college or educational setting
  • Experience leading or managing a classroom
  • Strong behaviour management skills
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • A confident, calm and professional approach
  • The ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
  • A relevant qualification or degree-level education is desirable
  • A genuine commitment to supporting pupils' education and development
