Job description

Supply Bank is working closely with a number of secondary schools across Cambridgeshire, seeking confident and adaptable Cover Supervisors to step in when teachers are absent and keep the school day running smoothly.

This hands-on classroom role is ideal if you’re considering a future in teaching, returning to education, or simply keen to build meaningful school experience without the full responsibilities of planning and marking.

The Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you’ll take the lead in the classroom using pre-prepared lesson materials, so there’s no planning required. Your focus will be on creating a calm and consistent environment where pupils stay engaged and learning continues without disruption.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Supervising lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
  • Following the school’s behaviour policy to maintain a positive learning environment
  • Supporting pupils with their work, including those with additional needs
  • Delivering set work clearly and ensuring lessons run smoothly

What We’re Looking For

  • Right to work in the UK (e.g. passport or BRP with a valid share code)
  • An Overseas Police Check if you have lived abroad
  • Experience working with young people (schools, youth work, sports coaching, tutoring, or similar)
  • Confident communication skills and a strong classroom presence
  • A calm and professional approach, even on busy days

Nice to Have (Not Essential)

  • Training or qualifications in education, childcare, or youth work
