Complex Needs Support Assistant – ASD Provision
Location: Llandeilo
Contract: Flexible Working
Salary: Competitive daily rate

Teaching Personnel are seeking a Complex Needs Support Assistant to work within a specialist education provision in Llandeilo that supports learners with a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

This setting provides a structured and nurturing environment designed specifically to support students with additional learning needs. A unique feature of the provision is a purpose-built flat onsite, where learners are supported in developing key independence and life skills to prepare them for life beyond education.

This role would suit someone patient, empathetic and proactive who is committed to helping learners build confidence, independence and essential life skills.

Key Responsibilities for Complex Needs Support Assistant

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for learners with complex needs and ASD.
  • Support students with communication, emotional regulation, and social interaction.
  • Assist with the development of life skills and independence through structured activities.
  • Work closely with teaching staff and other professionals to support individual learning plans.
  • Help maintain a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment.

Candidate Requirements

  • Enhanced DBS (Child Only) on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
  • Education Workforce Council (EWC) registration.
  • Ideally previous experience supporting individuals with Autism (ASD) or other Additional Learning Needs (ALN)
  • A calm, patient and supportive approach when working with learners with complex needs.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
