Clerical Assistant / Receptionist

Location: Cannock (WS11)
Contract: Permanent | Term Time + INSET Days
⏰ Hours: 37 hours per week
Salary: £21,000 - £24,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Are you an organised and customer-focused individual looking for a rewarding role within a school environment?

We are seeking a friendly and professional Clerical Assistant / Receptionist to provide a welcoming front-of-house service while supporting the day-to-day administrative functions of a busy secondary school.

The Role

  • Provide a professional and welcoming reception service for pupils, parents, staff, and visitors.
  • Answer and direct telephone calls and respond to enquiries.
  • Carry out a range of administrative duties, including filing, data entry, and correspondence.
  • Support the smooth day-to-day running of the school office.
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
  • Work efficiently in a busy environment while using initiative and maintaining accuracy.

About You

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths, NVQ qualification, or relevant administrative experience.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Organised, reliable, and able to work under pressure.
  • Confident using IT systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Able to maintain confidentiality and work independently.
  • Previous reception or administration experience is desirable but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
