Secondary School Teaching Assistant
Location: Barry, CF62
Start Date: ASAP
Hours: Part-time, Monday – Friday, 8am – 3:30pm
Pay: £90-£95 per day, with potential for a higher rate from April

We’re seeking an enthusiastic, supportive and reliable Teaching Assistant to help Pupil’s in the classroom at a welcoming School in Barry, Vale of Glamorgan.
Somebody encouraging and supportive for pupils to feel comfortable and confident in their participation with learning and engaging is exactly what we’re looking for!
What you’d be doing:
- Supporting pupils with their learning in the classroom.
- Following safeguarding procedures, ensuring the welfare and safety of all students.
- Building positive relationships with pupils to encourage confidence to participate in lessons.
- Good communication when liaising with teachers around lesson plans and students’ progress.
- Proactively helping wherever needed.
What we would require:
- Previous experience working with children or young people (desired but not required!)
- Enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
- Registration with the Education Workforce Council (or willingness to obtain) – We can help you with this!
- Confidence to engage and maintain pupil’s concentration.
- A proactive, flexible, and reliable approach with strong communication skills, and the ability to engage positively and effectively with students and teachers.
- Understanding of safeguarding policies and a commitment to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of children.
- Patience, calmness, and the ability to adapt to different situations.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
