Join an Exciting New Specialist Provision
An exciting opportunity has become available at the provision’s new Colehill provision in Wimborne for an enthusiastic and nurturing Classroom Assistant to support Primary and Key Stage 3 pupils within a specialist PRU environment.
This newly developed setting has been designed to provide young people with a highly supportive educational experience that combines academic learning with therapeutic and practical approaches.
Staff at the provision are passionate about helping pupils overcome barriers, develop confidence and achieve positive outcomes both inside and outside the classroom.
The successful applicant will join a welcoming and collaborative team where creativity, adaptability and compassion are highly valued.
Pupils may require support with learning, emotional regulation, communication or social development, so the ability to build positive relationships and respond calmly to individual needs is essential.
Unlike many traditional classroom roles, this opportunity offers excellent variety.
Alongside curriculum support, there may be opportunities to become involved in practical learning experiences including Forest School activities, sensory interventions, sport-based programmes, cooking sessions and science-based exploration.
You will help create an engaging and inclusive atmosphere where children and young people feel motivated, respected and able to thrive.
Main Duties
• Providing classroom support across a range of subjects and activities
• Encouraging participation, communication and independence
• Assisting pupils with emotional and social development
• Supporting outdoor education and therapeutic interventions
• Helping learners access practical activities including cooking and sensory experiences
• Building positive professional relationships with pupils, colleagues and families
• Promoting wellbeing, structure and consistency throughout the school day
• Contributing to a safe, encouraging and engaging learning environment

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
