We are seeking a resilient, compassionate and positive Social & Emotional Support Worker to work within a nurturing primary school setting in Swansea, supporting children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Your Role

You will work closely with pupils who may:
Struggle with emotional regulation
⚡ Display challenging or distressed behaviours
️ Find it difficult to express their needs

Your role is to look beyond the behaviour, helping children understand their emotions and develop positive strategies

A typical day could include:
Building meaningful, trusting relationships
Supporting 1:1 and small group activities
Helping pupils regulate emotions and feel calm
Supporting structured routines and transitions
Working with staff to implement tailored support strategies

No two days are ever the same – but every day you’ll make a difference


Who would suit this role?

No classroom experience? No problem – attitude is everything!

This role is ideal for:
⚽ Sports coaches / rugby coaches
‍‍ Youth workers or mentors
Psychology graduates
‍‍ Those with personal experience supporting SEMH
Anyone patient, empathetic and emotionally aware

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
