Job description

Job Title: Teacher of Business Studies

Job Purpose

To deliver engaging and relevant Business Studies education, equipping students with commercial awareness, analytical skills, and an understanding of enterprise and economics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach Business Studies at GCSE and/or A-level.

  • Deliver lessons covering finance, marketing, operations, human resources, and enterprise.

  • Use real-world examples and case studies to bring business concepts to life.

  • Support students in developing exam technique and extended written responses.

Curriculum & Assessment

  • Plan and deliver lessons aligned with examination board specifications.

  • Set, mark, and moderate assessments.

  • Use data to monitor progress and implement targeted support.

Pastoral & Wider Responsibilities

  • Encourage enterprise activities, competitions, or links with local businesses.

  • Act as a form tutor if required.

  • Promote high standards of behaviour and independent learning.

Safeguarding & Professional Duties

  • Follow all safeguarding and health & safety policies.

  • Participate in CPD and curriculum development.

  • Work collaboratively within the department and wider school.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

  • Degree in Business, Economics, or a related field.

  • Experience teaching Business Studies at secondary level.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
