Job Advert: Learning Support Assistant - British Sign Language (BSL) Level 1 Required

Are you passionate about helping students reach their full potential? Do you have a Level 1 qualification in British Sign Language (BSL)? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you!

We are currently seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our team at a great school in Wokingham. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with special educational needs, particularly those who communicate using British Sign Language.

Responsibilities:
- Work closely with class teachers and SENCo to provide one-to-one and small group support to students with additional learning needs.
- Help students to develop their communication and language skills, focusing on those who utilize British Sign Language (BSL).
- Assist in creating and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students, ensuring their specific needs are met.
- Encourage and motivate students to engage with learning activities, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Collaborate effectively with other members of staff to provide holistic support to students.

Requirements:
- Level 1 qualification in British Sign Language (BSL) is essential.
- Experience working with children or young adults with special educational needs is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to establish rapport and build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents/carers.
- Patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach towards students' individual needs.
- Flexibility to work Monday to Friday, during school hours.
