Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant – West Yorkshire

Location: West Yorkshire
Role Type: Full-time / Long-term / Temp-to-perm opportunities available
Start Date: ASAP / Flexible

We are currently recruiting Behaviour Support Teaching Assistants to work across a range of specialist SEN settings in West Yorkshire.

This role is ideal for individuals with experience supporting pupils with challenging behaviour, SEMH, Autism, or ADHD who are passionate about making a positive difference in a school environment.

The Role:

  • Providing 1:1 and small-group behaviour support

  • Supporting pupils to regulate emotions and manage behaviour positively

  • Implementing behaviour strategies and support plans

  • Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams

  • Supporting pupils’ social, emotional, and academic development

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience working with children or young people with behavioural or additional needs

  • A calm, patient, and resilient approach

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills

  • Confidence managing challenging behaviour in a professional setting

  • Experience in SEN, SEMH, PRU, alternative provision, youth work, care, or similar (desirable but not essential)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
