Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant

We are looking for a dedicated Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant to join a highly respected specialist provision supporting children and young people with a wide range of complex needs. Learners at this setting may have physical disabilities, medical needs, sensory impairments, communication difficulties and associated behavioural challenges.

As a Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant, you will help create a positive, structured and engaging learning environment. Working closely with teachers, therapists and senior staff, you will support students’ emotional regulation, learning routines and personal development.

Key Responsibilities

• Support students in managing behaviour, communication and emotional needs

• Build consistent and trusting relationships

• Assist with learning activities, personal care and mobility where needed

• Promote independence, resilience and positive behaviour strategies

• Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists and support teams

• Contribute to personalised programmes and progress tracking

What We’re Looking For

• Minimum 6 months of childcare or SEN experience (essential)

• Experience supporting children with behavioural, physical or complex needs

• Driving licence required due to location

• Patience, resilience and confidence in using positive behaviour strategies

• Ability to remain calm, consistent and supportive

• Passion for helping young people thrive

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
