Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant 
Agency Role – Temp to Perm Opportunity

A specialist education setting in Leyland is looking to recruit a Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant through an agency, with the opportunity to move into a permanent role for the right candidate. This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils who require additional behavioural and emotional support in a structured and supportive learning environment.

You will work closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams to support pupils with social, emotional and behavioural needs, helping them engage with learning and develop positive coping strategies.

Key responsibilities

• Supporting pupils who may display challenging behaviour in both classroom and structured settings
• Assisting teachers in delivering lessons and maintaining a positive learning environment
• Implementing behaviour support strategies and de-escalation techniques
• Building positive relationships with pupils to support engagement and development
• Supporting pupils with emotional regulation and social development
• Working closely with teachers, SEN staff and pastoral teams

• Experience working with children or young people with behavioural needs, SEN or SEMH
• A calm, patient and resilient approach
• Confidence managing challenging behaviour
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• A genuine passion for supporting young people who need additional support
