Behaviour Support Staff (Flexible / Adhoc Cover)
Location: Tonypandy
Pay: £110–£130 per day
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30 – 15:10
Start Date: ASAP and ongoing work available from September 2026

Are you confident, resilient, and passionate about working with young people? We are currently seeking Behaviour Support Staff to work on a flexible, adhoc basis within a secondary school in Tonypandy.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking for flexible working, where you can manage your own diary while gaining valuable experience in a school setting.

The Role:

  • Covering classes in the absence of teachers across ages 11–16
  • Managing classroom behaviour and maintaining a positive learning environment
  • Supporting students to complete pre-set work provided at the start of the day
  • Following a structured timetable issued each morning
  • Building strong, positive relationships with students

About You:

  • Confident managing groups of teenagers in a classroom setting
  • Strong communication and behaviour management skills
  • Able to adapt quickly and think on your feet
  • Passionate about supporting young people

Ideal for candidates with backgrounds in:

  • Sports coaching
  • Ex-public services (e.g. police, military, emergency services)
  • Parenting or childcare experience
  • Recent graduates or those leaving education
  • Anyone seeking a new challenge working with young people

Requirements:

  • Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent)
  • No teaching qualifications required
