Behaviour Support Assistant – Stockport

Position: Behaviour Support Assistant
Start Date: ASAP
Salary: £85 - £100 per day

We are looking for a dedicated Behaviour Support Assistant to join a secondary school in Stockport. In this rewarding role, you will work closely with students who require additional behavioural support, helping them to navigate challenges and achieve their potential. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who is passionate about education, mental health, or youth work and is looking to make a meaningful impact.
Your Role:
- One-to-One and Group Support: Provide tailored support to students with behavioural needs, ensuring they feel understood, supported, and motivated.
- Promote Positive Behaviour: Implement strategies to promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing, and social skills development.
- Collaborate with Staff and Parents: Work alongside teaching staff, SEN teams, and parents/carers to create consistent support strategies for each student.
- Create a Safe Environment: Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning atmosphere for all students.
- Track Progress: Monitor and report on student progress, ensuring effective communication with teaching staff and parents.
Requirements:
- Experience working with challenging behaviour or in a similar support role (e.g., youth worker, teaching assistant, mentor) is desirable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
- Strong emotional resilience, patience, and empathy.
- Ability to implement de-escalation techniques and remain calm under pressure.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
