Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm
Contract: September 2026

Are you passionate about helping young people overcome challenges and reach their full potential?
We are seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Assistant to support pupils aged 11-16 within a behavioural provision that works alongside a mainstream school. You will play a key role in supporting students who are at risk of exclusion, helping them re-engage with education, build confidence, and achieve positive outcomes.
In this hands-on role, you will work flexibly across all key stages, supporting learners who may face challenges engaging in a traditional educational setting. Through tailored one-to-one support, effective behaviour management strategies, and the development of positive, trusting relationships, you will help pupils feel safe, understood, and ready to succeed.
Working closely with teachers, pastoral staff, and other professionals, you will contribute to creating a structured, supportive, and inclusive learning environment where every student feels valued and capable of achieving their goals.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide individual and small-group support to pupils with behavioural and emotional needs.
- Build positive relationships that encourage engagement, confidence, and personal development.
- Implement behaviour management strategies and support plans.
- Work collaboratively with teachers and pastoral teams to promote positive outcomes for students.
- Support pupils in accessing learning and achieving their educational goals.
- Help maintain a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment.
Who We’re Looking For
Someone with:
- Experience with children, support work, miltary, police, youth work, care, mentoring or coaching
- Strong behaviour management strategies and techniques
- Confidence and resilience during challenging moments
- A calm, patient and consistent approach
- Understanding of ALN/SEMH needs
- A genuine passion for helping young people grow emotionally and academically

- Age 18+
- Education Workforce Council (EWC) registration
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
- Minimum of two professional references covering 24 months of employment

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
