Behaviour Support Assistant

Location:

Yorkshire and the Humber, West Yorkshire, Leeds, LS7

Job Duties:

As a Behaviour Support Assistant, your main responsibility will be to work closely with children to provide behaviour management support in an educational setting. This will involve implementing behaviour management strategies, assisting pupils in developing positive behaviours, and supporting the overall well-being of children. You will also collaborate with teachers and other support staff to create individualised behaviour plans and monitor pupil progress.

Required Qualifications:

- A relevant qualification in Education or Psychology

- Experience working with children or young people with behavioural challenges

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Education:

Minimum of a Level 3 qualification in Education or Psychology

Experience:

At least 1 year of experience working with children or young people in an educational or support capacity

Knowledge and Skills:

- Knowledge of behaviour management strategies

- Ability to build rapport with children and establish positive relationships

- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work effectively within a team

Preferred Qualifications:

- Training in Positive Behaviour Support

- Safeguarding training

Working Conditions:

You will be working in an educational setting, supporting students with behavioural challenges. The role may involve some challenging behaviours, so a calm and patient approach is essential. You may also be required to attend training sessions and meetings outside of regular school hours.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
