Are you passionate about supporting children to thrive both emotionally and academically? We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Behaviour Support Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Basingstoke.

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of pupils who require additional behavioural and emotional support to succeed in the classroom.

The Role:
As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to support pupils with behavioural needs. You will help create a positive learning environment, promote appropriate behaviour, and provide tailored support both in and out of the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with behavioural needs
  • Implement behaviour management strategies and support plans
  • Help pupils develop social and emotional skills
  • Support teachers in maintaining a positive and inclusive classroom environment
  • Build strong, supportive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Have experience working with SEMH children, ideally in a school or support setting
  • Be patient, calm, and resilient under pressure
  • Have strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Be passionate about supporting children’s development and wellbeing
  • Be able to work effectively as part of a team

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
