Behaviour Mentor - Stoke On Trent

Location: ST4, Staffordshire
Pay: £100–£120 per day (dependent on experience)
Contract: Full-time | Term Time Only
Start Date: September Start

We are recruiting on behalf of a supportive and inclusive school in the ST4 area for a dedicated and resilient Behaviour Mentor to join their team.

This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with students who require additional behavioural and emotional support, helping them to engage positively with education and reach their full potential.

The Role

  • Provide 1:1 and small group behavioural support to students.
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils to encourage engagement and confidence.
  • Support students in managing their emotions and behaviour both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and external professionals.
  • Implement behaviour support strategies and individual behaviour plans.
  • Promote positive behaviour, attendance, and emotional wellbeing.
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to student progress reviews.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience working with children or young people, particularly those with SEMH, SEN, or behavioural needs.
  • Calm, patient, and resilient with excellent communication skills.
  • Confident managing challenging behaviour using positive behaviour management techniques.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with students, families, and staff.
  • A genuine passion for supporting young people to succeed.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service is desirable (or willingness to obtain one).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
