Location: Milton Keynes
Salary: £180 – £260 per day (dependent on experience)
Contract: Temporary (with potential for permanent appointment)

We are seeking a dedicated Assistant Head of Maths to join a high-performing secondary school in Milton Keynes. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to curriculum development, enhance teaching and learning, and inspire the next generation of problem solvers.


The Role

As Assistant Head of Maths, you will:

  • Work closely with the Head of Department to develop and refine a high-quality Maths curriculum that meets the needs of all learners
  • Lead and inspire colleagues by modelling innovative teaching strategies and sharing best practice
  • Support students across all key stages, including A Level Maths within the newly established Sixth Form (opened September 2025)
  • Monitor student progress and implement effective strategies to drive achievement and attainment
  • Contribute to a collaborative and supportive team environment focused on delivering engaging and inclusive lessons

About the School

This is an Ofsted-rated ‘Outstanding’ secondary academy located on the western edge of Milton Keynes, serving the Whitehouse and Fairfields communities. Since opening in September 2020, the school has built a vibrant and inclusive learning environment for students aged 11–18.

With the recent launch of its Sixth Form in September 2025, the school continues to expand its provision and opportunities for students.

  • A qualified Maths teacher with strong subject knowledge
  • Experience teaching across Key Stages 3–5 (A Level desirable)
  • A passion for teaching and learning, with the drive to lead and inspire others
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • A commitment to raising achievement and supporting all learners
