Are you a student or graduate hoping to become a teacher?
Looking for hands‑on classroom experience that strengthens your confidence and supports future PGCE or teacher‑training applications?

We work with several welcoming and supportive schools in Abergavenny, all keen to offer opportunities to aspiring teachers wanting to build real, practical classroom experience.

This role is perfect if you want to:

  • Gain hands‑on classroom experience
  • Build teaching hours recognised by ITT providers
  • Work alongside qualified teachers and support staff
  • Try out different school settings before committing to training
  • Develop skills in behaviour management, lesson support, and pupil engagement

The Role

Depending on your skills and interests, you may support schools as a:

  • Teaching Assistant (General or SEN)
  • Classroom Assistant
  • Cover Supervisor (all lessons pre‑planned)
  • Learning Mentor / Behaviour Mentor

You will support pupils across Key Stage 3 and 4 (ages 11–16), assist with lesson delivery, and work closely with experienced teaching staff, providing invaluable preparation for a future career in teaching.
