ASC Teaching Assistant

Location: Cardiff (Central)

Pay: GBP60-65 a day

Start date: **22nd February 2021 (**when schools reopen)

Additional details: Catholic Primary, Year 2, 1:1 Support, Full-time (Mon-Fri), Temporary

A partner primary school of Teaching Personnel are seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support to a year 2 pupil with ASC. If you are engaging and have an excellent understanding of how to support children with ASC, then please read below for more information and qualifying criteria.

Role:

  • Utilising previous experience or training to support the pupil with their lessons and help raise attainment and passion for learning
  • Helping the class teacher when necessary with administrative tasks / classroom preparation
  • Always maintaining safeguarding policy as well as health and safety
  • Provide reports on the pupil’s academic and social progress to the class teacher and ALNCO
  • Be willing to undertake additional training when necessary

School:

The school is a small Catholic school in the centre of Cardiff that can be described as nurturing of both staff and pupils. At present the school has around 250 pupils.

Ideal candidate:

  • Able to work on one’s own initiative
  • Qualification relating to childcare and/or relevant experience
  • Experience supporting children with ASC
  • Has or willing to apply for a child-only DBS on the update service / EWC registration

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
