Art Technician – Inspiring Creativity Behind the Scenes

Location: Northampton
Salary: £20,000 – £24,000 (FTE) depending on experience
Contract Type: Term-time only, part-time/full-time considered
Start Date: September 2025

Are you passionate about art and creativity? Do you enjoy working in a vibrant and hands-on environment?
We are seeking a proactive and organised Art Technician to support our dynamic Art Department in delivering an outstanding creative education for our students.

As our new Art Technician, you'll play a key role in ensuring that lessons run smoothly, materials are prepared and maintained, and the art spaces are inspiring, safe, and fully equipped. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a background in art, design, or creative industries who thrives behind the scenes and enjoys enabling young people to express themselves artistically.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, organise, and maintain art materials, tools, and equipment

  • Support teachers during practical lessons and demonstrations

  • Manage stock levels and order supplies

  • Assist in setting up displays and exhibitions of student artwork

  • Ensure health and safety procedures are followed in studios and prep areas

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has a keen eye for detail and a creative flair

  • Is highly organised and can manage time effectively

  • Has knowledge of various art techniques, tools, and media

  • Ideally has experience in a school or studio environment (but not essential)

  • Is a team player with a flexible and positive attitude

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
