‍ The Role

You’ll be working across SEMH schools, PRUs, and alternative provisions supporting pupils who may:

  • Experience social, emotional and mental health needs
  • Display challenging behaviour linked to unmet needs or trauma
  • Have faced disrupted education or barriers to learning
  • Require structured, consistent support to re-engage

Your responsibilities will include:

✅ Delivering engaging, adapted lessons tailored to individual needs
✅ Building strong, trusting relationships to support engagement
✅ Using restorative, trauma-informed and de-escalation strategies
✅ Creating a calm, consistent, and structured learning environment
✅ Supporting EHCPs and personalised learning plans
✅ Working collaboratively with pastoral teams, behaviour mentors, and SEN specialists

What You’ll Bring

✔ QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)
✔ Strong teaching experience (Primary or secondary considered)
✔ Confidence managing behaviour and challenging situations
✔ Experience in SEMH, PRU, or alternative provision (desirable)
✔ Or a genuine passion and interest in transitioning into SEMH
✔ A calm, resilient, and consistent approach
