The Role
You’ll be working across SEMH schools, PRUs, and alternative provisions, supporting pupils who may:
• Display challenging behaviour linked to SEMH needs
• Have experienced trauma or disrupted education
• Struggle with emotional regulation and engagement
• Require consistent, structured support to succeed
Your responsibilities will include:
• Supervising pre-set lessons and ensuring pupils stay on task
• Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies
• Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils
• Supporting engagement and reducing disruption
• Using de-escalation and behaviour strategies
• Working alongside teaching staff, behaviour mentors, and pastoral teams

What You’ll Bring

• ✅ Confidence managing behaviour and challenging situations
• ✅ Experience in SEMH, PRU, or alternative provision (or a strong interest in this area)

• ✅ A passion for supporting pupils beyond the academics
(A degree or aspirations to move into teaching are desirable but not essential)
