Teaching Assistant – Secondary School & ASC Unit (Llandeilo)

Flexible Working via Teaching Personnel

Teaching Personnel are seeking compassionate, proactive, and dedicated Teaching Assistants to support a welcoming Secondary School and their specialist ASC Unit in the Llandeilo area. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about supporting young people with a diverse range of needs in both mainstream and specialist settings.

About the Role

You will potentially be working across two environments:

Mainstream Secondary School

Supporting pupils who may have Additional Learning Needs (ALN), helping them engage positively in lessons, build confidence, and access the curriculum effectively.

ASC Specialist Unit

Working closely with pupils who have:

  • Diagnosed Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), or
  • A formal statement outlining their needs

All pupils in the ASC Unit have a One Page Profile clearly listing:

  • Their individual needs
  • Likes and dislikes
  • Potential triggers and strategies that work best for them

Your role will involve using these profiles to provide tailored, pupil-centred support.

What We’re Looking For

We welcome applicants with experience in any of the following:

  • Supporting pupils with ASC or additional needs
  • Working in education, care, youth work, or similar settings
  • Using de-escalation strategies or following personalised support plans

Most importantly, you’ll be patient, nurturing, and able to build positive relationships with young people.

Requirements

To work with Teaching Personnel, you will need:

  • Enhanced Child-Only DBS (on the Update Service, or willing to apply)
  • EWC Registration (Education Workforce Council)
  • A genuine passion for supporting young people’s educational and personal development

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
