Teaching Personnel is recruiting Additional Learning Needs (ALN) Teaching Assistants to support pupils across a range of secondary and specialist SEN schools throughout Carmarthenshire.

This is an excellent opportunity for experienced Teaching Assistants, Support Workers, Care Assistants, Youth Workers, Health & Social Care professionals, graduates, or anyone with relevant transferable experience looking to build a rewarding career in education.

Your Role

You'll support pupils aged 11-19 with a variety of additional learning needs, helping them access education, develop confidence, improve independence, and reach their full potential.

You may support pupils with:

✅ Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)

✅ Profound & Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)

✅ ADHD

✅ Speech, Language & Communication Needs (SLCN)

✅ Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH) needs

✅ Complex learning difficulties

✅ Physical disabilities and medical needs

✅ Sensory processing difficulties

Support may be provided on a 1:1 basis, in small groups, or within specialist learning environments.

Desirable Experience & Qualifications

✅ Experience supporting children, young people, or vulnerable adults

✅ Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Care Assistant, Support Worker, Youth Worker, Behaviour Mentor, Residential Care, or Health & Social Care experience

✅ Experience supporting individuals with ASC, PMLD, ADHD, SEMH, Speech & Language, or complex needs

✅ Experience with emotional regulation, behaviour support, personal care, moving and handling, or medical needs

✅ Level 2 or Level 3 Supporting Teaching & Learning, Teaching Assistant, Childcare, Health & Social Care, Psychology, Education, Counselling, or Youth Work qualifications

✅ Team Teach, Manual Handling, Positive Behaviour Support, First Aid, or other relevant training
