Additional Needs Teaching Assistant required with immediate start!

Job Title: ALN Teaching Assistant

Location: Bridgend

Hours: Monday to Friday 8:30 – 15:30

Pay: From £93 per day

Start: Immediate and on-going with potential for contract directly via the school 

 

Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting on behalf of a partnership school based in Bridgend, to support in classes throughout the provision. The school is a dedicated workspace for children all of which have severe learning difficulties, ASD, and some with behavioural issues as a result. We are seeking a strong, resilient and patient teaching assistant to support this school and these inviduals.

 

A Successful Teaching Assistant will require:

•             To be registered with the EWC (Education Workforce Council)

•             Hold a DBS certificate that is registered on the Update System.

•             Provide 2 professional references, covering 24 months.

•             To be strong and resilient when facing challenging behaviour.

Whilst having experience working with children who have SEN in a professional setting is desirable, we welcome applications from people who have personal experience or someone who is willing to fully engage and develop skills in the area. Key previous experiences could include; sport, care, public services, nursing, coaching, youth work and other people/children focused roles.

 

ALN Teaching Assistant responsibilities:

•             Working in a small class of pupils all with ALN.

•             Being a positive and encouraging staff member, supporting the children to grow and develop.

•             Build trusting relationships with pupils, staff and parents and provide social and emotional support.

•             Create a positive and caring, safe environment for the pupils to thrive.

•             Adhere to school’s safeguarding and protection policies.

•             Strong teamwork with fellow Teachers and Teaching Assistants

•             Adapting to situations as they arise.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
