1:1 Tutor - Newcastle (NE1)

Part-Time | Weekday School Hours

Are you an experienced and passionate educator with a background in supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? We are seeking a dedicated 1:1 Tutor to provide personalised tuition to students in the Newcastle (NE1) area.

The Role

As a 1:1 Tutor, you will deliver tailored lessons to students with a range of additional learning needs, including SEN and SEND. You will help learners build confidence, overcome barriers to education, and achieve their academic and personal goals through engaging, individualised support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality one-to-one tuition tailored to individual learning needs.
  • Support students with SEN/SEND, adapting teaching strategies and resources accordingly.
  • Plan and deliver engaging sessions in core subjects such as English, Maths, and Science.
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing regular feedback.
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
  • Build positive relationships with students, families, and other professionals involved in the learner's education.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of teaching experience in the UK is essential.
  • Experience working with children and young people with SEN/SEND.
  • Strong understanding of differentiated teaching and inclusive learning strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to engage, motivate, and inspire learners.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Right to work in the UK.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
