1:1 Teaching Assistant

We are working closely with a highly supportive specialist education setting located in the Harbourside area of Poole.

The Role

• Full-time 1:1 Teaching Assistant role

• Supporting pupils aged 10–16 with SEMH needs

• Working hours: 8.30am to 4pm

• Secondary provision available

• Providing consistent one-to-one support to help pupils access learning

• Supporting emotional regulation, behaviour management, and engagement in lessons

• Immediate start available

Student Needs

• Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs

• Anxiety and low mood

• Attachment and detachment disorders

• Challenging behaviour linked to emotional regulation difficulties

Requirements

• Minimum of 6 months’ childcare experience, particularly supporting children or young people with SEN

• Experience working with SEMH needs is highly desirable

• Calm, patient and resilient approach

• Ability to build strong, trusting relationships with pupils

• Confident working one-to-one and as part of a wider support team

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
