Job description

Teaching Personnel are working with a lovely School in Petersfield who are looking for an experienced 1:1 TA to work with a Year 4 child with SEMH. The hours are monday to friday 8:30am-13:15.

This child has SEMH, communication & interaction plus cognition and learning needs as well as trauma which presents as self destructive behaviour including oppositional defiance.

They are therefore looking for someone with the following skill set:

  • Quick thinking and able to think outside the box
  • Able to pick up on and use the child's interests in order to develop a learning skill (academic or social)
  • Good sense of humour
  • Calm, resilient and able to not take things personally
  • Someone who likes a challenge
  • Understands how important it is to reset and allow time for the child to regulate
  • Experienced SEN practitioner particularly with SEMH experience
  • Knowledge of zones of regulation and ideally the Empowerment Approach for behaviour management (Kit Messenger)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
