1:1 Teaching Assistant

About the Role:
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to support 1:1 with a student who requires extra support. This may be with a KS1 or KS2 student, so we are looking for candidates who are flexible.
Start Date: September or October 2026
Salary: £92.63 a day
Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm Monday to Friday
To be considered you must obtain an enhanced child only DBS and provide two contact references.
A number of primary schools based in the Basingstoke area are seeking experienced Teaching Assistants to start from September. We have temporary, long term and permanent positions available.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting individual pupil/s inside and out of the classroom
- Assisting with classroom activities and resources
- Helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Supporting pupils with additional needs to develop emotional and academically
- Assisting with organising and tidying the classroom when necessary
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience working with primary children (KS1 – KS2)
- A caring, patient, and adaptable approach
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Experience supporting SEN children is desired but not essential
- A genuine passion for helping children learn and grow
- Basic knowledge of safeguarding and child protection principles (CPD training provided)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
