Job Title: 1:1 Teaching Assistant (EYFS)
Location: Amesbury
Start Date: September 2026 – Part Time
Pay: £90–£94 per day
About the Role
We are looking for a caring and committed 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join a highly regarded primary school in Amesbury. This is a rewarding opportunity to support children in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) as they begin their school journey.
In this role, you will provide dedicated one-to-one support, helping pupils settle into the classroom environment, build confidence, and develop essential social and emotional skills. Your support will be key in ensuring children feel safe, supported, and ready to learn.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide individualised 1:1 support, with a focus on emotional, social, and SEN development
- Support pupils as they transition into school routines and the classroom environment
- Assist children with structured activities both inside and outside the classroom
- Help establish a consistent and positive daily routine
- Work collaboratively with the class teacher to deliver tailored support strategies
- Liaise with the SENCo where appropriate to meet individual pupil needs
Requirements
- Previous experience working with children is essential (e.g. schools, nurseries, or childcare settings)
- A patient, nurturing, and proactive attitude
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A genuine passion for supporting early childhood development
Safeguarding & Vetting
All applicants will be subject to thorough safeguarding and vetting procedures in line with safer recruitment practices. This includes:
- An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
- Professional references covering the past two years
- Verification of identity and right to work in the UK
- Completion of safeguarding and compliance training

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
