1-1 SEN Teaching Assistant – BS22 Weston-super-Mare – Full Time – ASAP Start
Location: BS22, Weston-super-Mare
Hours: Full time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm
Start Date: ASAP
Are you a patient and nurturing Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding 1-1 role? We are working with a welcoming primary school in the BS22 area of Weston-super-Mare who are looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to provide 1-1 support to a child with additional needs.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with SEN experience who can bring a calm, consistent and supportive approach to help a child flourish in their learning and build their confidence.
The Role:
- Providing dedicated 1-1 support to a primary aged pupil with additional needs
- Supporting the child to access classroom learning and stay engaged with activities
- Helping with transitions, daily routines and tasks throughout the school day
- Encouraging independence, confidence and positive learning behaviours
- Supporting social skills, communication and emotional regulation
- Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to track progress
- Creating a calm, structured and nurturing environment for the child
We Are Looking For:
- Experience supporting children with SEN in a school setting (essential)
- A calm, patient and reassuring approach
- Someone who enjoys being active and spending time outdoors
- A sporty or outdoorsy personality would be a great fit for this role
- A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
- Ability to stay positive and composed in challenging situations
- Strong communication and relationship building skills
- Reliability, professionalism and a commitment to safeguarding
- An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)
- Available to start immediately
