SEN Support in Mainstream Primary School

Are you looking for a new challenge? Are you passionate about helping or about working with SEN students? Want to further your career in education?

A Mainstream Primary School is looking for a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a young person with autism.  The child is new to the Year 2 class and now attends the school on a full time basis, after a brief transition period. The successful candidate will support the child during lessons and also during break times.

  • GBP 57 – GBP 65 Daily Rate
  • Didsbury (M20)
  • Start Date: 04/11/19
  • Working Hours: 8:30 – 15:30
  • Full time and a long term basis

The Ideal Candidate will:

  • Have sensitivity and understanding
  • Have patience and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations
  • Enjoy working with other people
  • Have the ability to accept criticism and work well under pressure
  • Be flexible and open to change
  • Have excellent verbal communication skills

Requirements:

  • Level 2 or above Teaching Assistant qualification
  • At least 3 months prior experience working with autism
  • Prior experience working with children
