1:1 SEN Support Assistant – Uxbridge
Teaching Personnel are seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and proactive 1:1 SEN Support Assistant to join a welcoming primary or secondary school in Uxbridge from September 2026.
This is a rewarding full-time opportunity for someone passionate about supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs and helping them thrive both academically and emotionally within a nurturing school environment.
The successful candidate will work closely with an individual pupil on a 1:1 basis, providing tailored support to help them access learning, build confidence, and develop positive relationships within school. The role would suit someone with previous SEN experience who is patient, resilient, and committed to making a genuine difference in a young person’s educational journey.

The Role Will Include:
- Providing dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with Special Educational Needs
- Supporting the student’s academic, emotional, and social development
- Adapting classroom activities and learning materials to suit individual needs
- Working closely with teachers, the SENCO, and external professionals
- Encouraging independence, engagement, and confidence within lessons
- Supporting behaviour regulation using positive reinforcement strategies
- Helping to create a calm, safe, and inclusive learning environment
- Promoting positive peer interaction and participation in school life
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Experience supporting children or young people with SEN
- A calm, patient, and nurturing approach
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Experience working within a school or educational setting
- A Level 2 qualification in Childcare or Supporting Teaching and Learning
(Level 3 desirable) - Understanding of additional needs such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or speech and language difficulties
- A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners
