Hours: 8:30am – 4:00pm
Contract: Full-time, term‑time
Location: Stratford-Upon-Avon, CV37
We are looking for a caring, committed 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to provide personalised support for a KS3 learner following a semi‑formal learning pathway. This role is suited to someone confident in supporting students with autism, communication needs, and sensory regulation.
About the Student
- KS3 pupil learning within a semi‑formal curriculum model
- Uses emerging verbal communication alongside an AAC device
- Supported by ongoing Speech and Language Therapy involvement
- Can occasionally experience sensory overload or dysregulation
- Responds best to structure, consistency, and adults who build strong relational trust
- Requires an adult who can apply SLT strategies and help work towards EHCP goals
Due to the pupil’s individual support needs and comfort levels, this post requires a female staff member.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide individualised support throughout the school day
- Reinforce communication techniques and specialist SLT guidance
- Encourage and facilitate the use of an AAC device
- Help deliver the outcomes set out in the EHCP
- Support emotional and sensory regulation using agreed strategies
- Build a warm, dependable working relationship with the pupil
- Work closely with teachers, specialists, and the Senior Leadership Team
- Assist with transitions, routines, and engagement in learning activities
Requirements
- Enhanced DBS for both Child and Adult Workforce, ideally on the Update Service
- Demonstrated ability to build positive, trusting rapport with students
- Experience supporting young people with ASD or complex communication needs
- Confidence in following multidisciplinary advice (e.g., SLT input)
- Understanding of semi‑formal educational approaches, or willingness to develop this
- Calm, thoughtful, and consistent approach to behaviour and communication

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
