1:1 Learning Support Assistant – Primary School – Rugby, Warwickshire

Are you a compassionate and dedicated 1:1 Learning Support Assistant looking for a rewarding opportunity in a primary school? Do you have experience supporting children with additional needs and want to make a real difference to a child's education?

We're recruiting a committed 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to work within welcoming mainstream primary schools across Rugby, Warwickshire, supporting pupils on a one-to-one basis from September.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Learning Support Assistant, Teaching Assistant, or someone with relevant school-based or SEND experience who is passionate about helping children thrive.

The Role

As a 1:1 Learning Support Assistant, you will:

• Provide dedicated one-to-one support for a pupil with additional learning needs.
• Build a positive and trusting relationship to encourage confidence and independence.
• Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement personalised learning strategies.
• Adapt activities to meet the individual needs of the pupil.
• Support the child's academic, social and emotional development.
• Promote positive behaviour and encourage engagement within the classroom.
• Monitor progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
• Help create a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.

What We're Looking For

To be successful in this 1:1 Learning Support Assistant role, you will have:

• Previous experience working as a Learning Support Assistant, Teaching Assistant, or supporting children within a school setting.
• Experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) is highly desirable.
• A patient, caring and resilient approach.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
• A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
• The ability to commute reliably to schools across Rugby and the surrounding areas.

A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential for candidates with relevant experience.
