Contract: Full-time, Term-Time Only
Salary: £100–£105 per day (dependent on experience)

Teaching Personnel is seeking resilient, compassionate, and committed individuals to support a primary-aged pupil on a 1:1 basis who requires additional behavioural and emotional support to access education successfully.
This rewarding role is ideal for candidates who are passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning and can build positive, trusting relationships through consistency, patience, and understanding.
Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider pastoral team, you will play a vital role in helping a pupil develop emotional regulation, positive behaviours, and confidence within the classroom.
The Role
As a 1:1 Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support throughout the school day.
- Build a positive and trusting relationship with your assigned pupil.
- Support pupils who may display behaviours that challenge due to additional needs, trauma, anxiety, or social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.
- Encourage engagement in learning and promote independence.
- Implement behaviour support strategies and individual support plans.
- Use positive behaviour management techniques to de-escalate challenging situations.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals.
- Record observations and provide feedback on progress and wellbeing.
- Help create a calm, safe, and inclusive learning environment.

- Behaviour support within a school setting.
- Supporting children with SEMH needs.
- Autism (ASC) support.
- ADHD.
- Youth work.
- Residential childcare.
- Children's care or support work.
- Mental health support.
- Sports coaching or mentoring.
- Youth offending or community support work.
A Teaching Assistant qualification is welcomed but not essential—your attitude, resilience, and ability to build relationships are just as important.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
