Year 9 SEND Teacher
Job description
A Secondary Specialist school in the Stockport area are looking for an enthusiastic, passionate and motivated teacher, to help support the crucial role in development and progression of students in a year 9 class with mild to moderate needs, this includes ASC and speech, language and communication support and regular 1 to 1 intervention. The school provides individualised and inclusive learning strategies, accommodations and a nurturing environment.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver individualised lessons and interventions meeting the needs to pupils
- Be confident to collaborate and lead a team
- Monitor, track and regularly provide feedback regarding pupil’s progress
- Demonstrate a positive, supportive and safe learning environment
- Regularly with schools SENCO staff and other teachers to develop individual learning plans
- Promote social and emotional development alongside academic achievements
- Regularly communicate with parents, carers and external agencies effectively
Requirements:
- Qualified teacher status (QTS)
- Experience working with special needs and challenging behaviour, ideally secondary aged
- Excellent behaviour management skills
- Knowledge of SEN needs, learning styles and strategies
- Team Teach training – can be provided
- Strong communication skills and ability to adapt quickly

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
