Year 6 Class Teacher – Full Time | Leyland

We are recruiting for an experienced and committed Year 6 Class Teacher to join a reputable faith-based Primary School in Leyland.

This is a full-time position with full class responsibility. Due to the academic responsibility attached to teaching Year 6, the school is specifically considering Fully Inducted Teachers who have relevant and recent Year 6 teaching experience.

The Role

As the Year 6 Class Teacher, you will take responsibility for the teaching, learning and progress of your class, supporting pupils through this important final year of primary education.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Planning and delivering engaging lessons in line with the KS2 curriculum
• Preparing pupils for end-of-KS2 assessments and SATs
• Identifying and addressing gaps in learning, particularly across English and Maths
• Monitoring progress and using assessment effectively to inform future teaching
• Differentiating learning to meet a range of abilities and needs
• Supporting pupils academically and emotionally as they prepare for their transition to secondary school
• Working collaboratively with colleagues and support staff
• Contributing positively to the wider life and values of this faith school

Who We’re Looking For

For this particular position, applicants must:

• Be a Fully Inducted Teacher with QTS
• Have relevant Year 6 classroom teaching experience
• Demonstrate excellent knowledge of the KS2 curriculum and Year 6 expectations
• Be confident supporting pupils towards their end-of-KS2 assessments
• Have strong classroom and behaviour management skills
• Be able to take full responsibility for planning, teaching and assessment
• Have previous UK classroom teaching experience
• Be willing to support and uphold the positive ethos and values of a faith-based school
