Job Advert: Year 5/6 Class Teacher (Mixed Class)

A welcoming and community-focused village school is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Year 5/6 Class Teacher to join their team after the May half-term to see out the rest of the academic year. This position is available on either a part-time or full-time basis, offering flexibility for the right candidate.

This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in pupils’ final chapter of primary education, supporting them academically and personally as they prepare for transition to secondary school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, deliver and assess engaging lessons for a mixed Year 5/6 class
  • Undertake marking and assessment in line with school policies
  • Support pupils in preparation for SATs
  • Foster a positive, inclusive and supportive classroom environment
  • Contribute to the wider school community and ethos

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Be a qualified teacher (QTS)
  • Have experience teaching in Key Stage 2 (preferably upper KS2)
  • Demonstrate strong classroom management and organisational skills
  • Be committed to supporting pupils’ wellbeing and achievement
  • Work collaboratively as part of a team

Additional Information:
All vetting will be conducted through Teaching Personnel. Successful candidates will attend an initial interview with the Headteacher prior to appointment.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
