Year 4 Teacher – Full Time
Location: Wigan
Start Date: October 2026
Contract: Full Time (Potential Temp to Perm)

A well-established and forward-thinking primary school in Wigan is looking to appoint a committed Year 4 Teacher to join their Key Stage 2 team. The school has a strong leadership structure in place and is recognised for its supportive environment and focus on staff development.

This role would suit a teacher who is passionate about delivering engaging lessons and is confident in driving progress across upper KS2, particularly as pupils begin preparing for the transition into Year 5.

The Role Will Involve:

  • Full class teaching responsibility including planning, preparation and assessment
  • Delivering creative and structured lessons that meet the needs of all learners
  • Using formative and summative assessment to track pupil progress
  • Implementing effective behaviour management strategies in line with school policy
  • Working closely with teaching assistants to support lower and higher ability pupils
  • Contributing to wider school life, including meetings, CPD and parent communication

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Have recent experience teaching within KS2 (Year 3–6 desirable)
  • Demonstrate strong subject knowledge in English and Maths
  • Be confident adapting lessons for SEND and EAL learners
  • Show excellent classroom management and organisational skills
  • Be committed to raising attainment and maintaining high expectations
