Pay: Competitive daily rate, dependent on experience but starting from £130 for ECTs

Teaching Personnel is recruiting a Year 3 Teacher to join a Catholic Primary School in St Helens from November 2026.

The successful teacher will work three days per week, taking responsibility for teaching a Year 3 class and working closely with the wider KS2 team to provide consistency across the week.

This would suit an experienced teacher, ECT, returning teacher or regular supply teacher looking for a stable part-time position within one school.

The role

As the Year 3 Teacher, you will:

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons across the Year 3 curriculum
• Ensure consistency and continuity across the three teaching days
• Support pupils with reading, writing, mathematics and the wider curriculum
• Adapt teaching for different abilities and additional needs
• Use assessment to identify misconceptions and plan appropriate next steps
• Maintain established classroom routines and behaviour expectations
• Work closely with Teaching Assistants and the wider KS2 team
• Complete marking and provide useful feedback to pupils
• Communicate clearly with the teacher covering the remainder of the week
• Build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues and parents
• Contribute to the wider life and Catholic ethos of the school

Who is the school looking for?

The school would like to meet a teacher who:

• Holds Qualified Teacher Status
• Has experience teaching or training within KS2
• Understands the expectations of the lower KS2 curriculum
• Can confidently teach English, mathematics and foundation subjects
• Has a calm and consistent approach to classroom management
• Is organised and able to communicate effectively within a shared timetable
• Can adapt learning for pupils with SEND and different starting points
• Is reliable and able to commit to three days each week
• Is comfortable supporting the values of a Catholic primary school
