Are you an Early Career Teacher with experience or a strong interest in supporting pupils with SEND?

Teaching Personnel is working exclusively with a welcoming primary school in Maghull to recruit a Year 3 Class Teacher from January 2027.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ECT who wants more than a temporary teaching placement. The school will provide a structured induction programme and intends to support the successful teacher in completing two terms of statutory ECT induction between January and July 2027. You will take responsibility for a Year 3 class while receiving protected development time, mentoring and regular professional support.

What Makes This Opportunity Different?

  • Two terms of ECT induction supported and assessed
  • Full-time responsibility for one Year 3 class
  • Protected ECT development time
  • A dedicated mentor and induction tutor
  • Regular feedback, progress reviews and professional development
  • Support from an established lower-KS2 team
  • Experience working alongside the SENCO and Teaching Assistants
  • A long-term position within one Maghull primary school
  • Exclusive access to the vacancy through Teaching Personnel
  • Ongoing support from application through to placement

The school will work with an appropriate body to oversee the induction process, with mentoring, progress reviews and formal assessment completed in line with statutory guidance.

SEND Experience

Relevant experience may include:

  • Autism or social-communication needs

  • SEMH and emotional regulation
  • Supporting pupils with EHCPs
  • Using visual resources or structured routines
  • Delivering 1:1 or small-group interventions
  • Working alongside a SENCO or specialist professional

You do not need to be a SEND specialist. However, you should be able to demonstrate an inclusive approach, a willingness to adapt teaching and a commitment to maintaining appropriately high expectations for every pupil.

Applications are also welcome from ECTs who have already completed part of their induction elsewhere. Eligibility and previous induction progress will be checked with the relevant appropriate body.
