Job Vacancy: Year 2 Teaching Assistant

Position: Teaching Assistant – Year 2
Contract Type: Full-time

The Role:
A fantastic primary school in Stockport is looking for a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their Year 2 team. You’ll play a key role in supporting the class teacher to deliver engaging lessons and help pupils flourish academically, socially, and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Year 2 teacher with lesson planning and delivery
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils
- Encourage positive behaviour and social development
- Assist with preparing classroom resources and materials
- Monitor pupil progress and wellbeing, reporting to the teacher
- Help maintain a safe and nurturing classroom environment
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience working with primary-aged children (Year 2 experience preferred)
- A genuine passion for education and child development
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, enthusiasm, and a proactive attitude
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team
- Relevant qualifications or training in education/support work (desirable but not essential)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
