Year 2 Teacher | Temporary Opportunity | Catholic Primary School | St Helens
Teaching Personnel is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and inclusive Catholic primary school in St Helens, seeking an enthusiastic and committed Year 2 Teacher to join their dedicated team on a temporary basis from October 2026 until February 2027, covering a planned staff operation.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an outstanding teacher or ambitious Early Career Teacher to lead a Year 2 class at a crucial stage in pupils' learning. You will play a key role in preparing children for the transition into Key Stage 2, helping them develop confidence, resilience and a lifelong love of learning.

Contract: Full-time, Temporary (October 2026 to February 2027)
Salary: Daily rate from £135 - £198

The role
As the Year 2 Class Teacher, you will be responsible for creating an engaging and inclusive learning environment where every child can achieve their potential.
You will:
- Plan and deliver creative, high-quality lessons aligned with the Key Stage 1 curriculum.
- Prepare pupils confidently for the end of Key Stage 1 expectations.
- Monitor progress through effective assessment and adapt teaching to meet individual needs.
- Foster a positive classroom culture built on encouragement, respect and high expectations.
- Work closely with teaching assistants, SEND staff and senior leaders to ensure every child receives the support they need.
- Build strong relationships with parents and carers to support children's learning and development.
We're looking for someone who has:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Experience teaching within Key Stage 1, ideally Year 2.
- A passion for helping every child achieve their very best.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- High expectations for pupil achievement and behaviour.
- A collaborative approach and commitment to continuous professional development.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
