About the Role

As the successful Year 2 Class Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and creative lessons that inspire pupils, foster confidence, and support excellent progress across the curriculum. You will play a vital role in preparing children for the transition into Key Stage 2 while creating a positive and nurturing classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging lessons in line with the Key Stage 1 curriculum.
• Differentiate learning effectively to meet the needs of all pupils.
• Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.
• Assess and monitor pupil progress, using outcomes to inform future planning.
• Support pupils' academic, social, and emotional development.
• Prepare pupils for a successful transition into Key Stage 2.
• Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, colleagues, and parents.
• Maintain high standards of behaviour, achievement, and attendance.
• Contribute positively to the wider school community.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful applicant will:

• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Have experience teaching within Key Stage 1, with Year 2 experience advantageous.
• Demonstrate strong classroom management skills.
• Deliver engaging and challenging lessons that inspire learners.
• Be skilled in adapting teaching to meet diverse learning needs.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues.
• Show a commitment to inclusion, safeguarding, and pupil wellbeing.
• Bring enthusiasm, creativity, and a genuine passion for primary education.
