Salary / Pay Rate: £140 - £180

Contract Type: Full-time, fixed term with potential to extend

Start Date: September 2026

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, term time only

About the Role

We are looking for a Year 1 Teacher to join a primary school in the NG20 area. The role involves teaching a Key Stage 1 class and supporting pupils as they move from early years into more structured learning.

You will be responsible for planning and delivering lessons across the Year 1 curriculum and ensuring pupils are supported as they develop key skills in reading, writing and maths.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons in line with the KS1 curriculum
• Support pupils with phonics, early reading and basic numeracy skills
• Create a structured and supportive classroom environment
• Assess and track pupil progress regularly
• Work with teaching assistants to support learning needs
• Communicate with parents and carers where appropriate
• Contribute to planning within the year group team

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Experience teaching within Key Stage 1 (ECTs will be considered)
• Good understanding of early primary education and phonics teaching
• Ability to manage classroom behaviour consistently
• Strong organisation and planning skills
• A calm and steady approach to teaching and learning
